Sara Cunningham-Bell, MSc, PGCE, PGDip., BA (Hons), leads and writes workshops to encourage success in material exploration and the individual's creative ideas, to push forward group identity and build community cohesion.
Sara has worked alongside and lead workshops for a wide age range of mixed abilities, in venues e.g., Art Colleges: Glasgow School of Art, ECA , with a selection from here and Leith, Gallashiels Textile School students attending Art weekends organised and run by Sara CB (Glasgow base); Art Centres: Flowerfield Art Centre Portstewart, Ullans Centre Ballymoney, Coleraine Arts Society; Schools: Loreto College Coleraine, Our Lady of Lourdes, Coleraine Grammar School, St. Aloysius Glasgow; Church groups: St. Patricks Coleraine, Christ Church Castlerock, Yoker Episcopalian, & Saint Silas, Glasgow, St. Paul and St Georges, Edinburgh.
She tutors in A'Level portfolio studies and teaches units of work from her Gorse Lane Studio to individuals and small selected groups. These have a massive variety of outcomes from painting or a sculptural base, observational skills are often applied as a foundation to further outcomes.
Her creative work area, Gorse Lane Studio - has several bespoke, outside garden rooms to explore and an airy indoor space which enables safe spatial distancing to carry out an amazing spread of disciplines: intaglio paint techniques, carving, welding, steel manipulation, ceramic hand building with a reading zone and kettle. She is member of the Visual Arts Ireland (VAI), and has written articles for: VAI, ACG, the Concrete Society, Perspective Journal, NI Homes and Interiors magazine, with other journals including her work such as Perspective and Living Design magazines; Sara CB was an Art A'Level moderator 2013 to 2015, the Scottish Rep for Arts Centre Group (ACG London) 1993-1996, invited writer for Strathclyde, Art and Design curriculum paper, Key Stage 1, to 3, 1995, and BBC researcher for a presented documentary on Trees, 1991.
